Welcome to Monkeypod Education! I’m Sarah Nissim, M.Ed., a literacy specialist, private tutor, and consultant dedicated to helping students, families, and schools improve literacy outcomes. With a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Cornell University and a Master’s in Elementary Education from National University, I have spent over two decades as an educator, learning specialist, and reading interventionist, specializing in structured literacy for students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

As a mother of two neurodivergent children, I understand firsthand the struggles families face when a child is struggling to read. My personal journey has deepened my commitment to equipping parents, educators, and students with the tools they need to succeed.

At Monkeypod Education, my approach is grounded in the science of reading and the speech-to-print methodology, which focuses on how spoken language naturally connects to written words. This highly efficient and effective approach simplifies and fast-tracks the process of learning to read and write. I provide direct intervention, coach educators, and collaborate with families and schools to create meaningful literacy gains. I believe that every child is capable of learning to read, and with the right support, they can unlock their full potential—both in literacy and in life.
